NeoGenesis vs AnteAGE (2026): Which Growth Factor Serum System Is Right for You in Canada?

Fibroblast and adipose secretome on a dose ladder, or bone marrow cytokines in a two-step system. Both are on our shelf. Here is how to choose by protocol, not by hype.

NeoGenesis vs AnteAGE (2026): Which Growth Factor Serum System Is Right for You in Canada?

Here is the uncomfortable truth about "growth factor serum" as a category: the label tells you almost nothing. Not which cells the molecules came from, not whether you are getting the whole secretome or a curated fraction, not how they are carried into skin or how often you should apply them. NeoGenesis and AnteAGE are both growth factor brands, both professional lines, both carried by WeDoSkin as an authorized Canadian retailer, and they answer every one of those questions differently.

NeoGenesis bottles the complete secretome of human fibroblast and adipose mesenchymal stem cells, calls it S2RM (stem cell released molecules), and sells it on a concentration ladder: 70% in Recovery, 40% in Booster, 20% in Skin Serum, 10% in Eye Serum. You choose the dose, and the top rung is allowed up to four times a day. AnteAGE bottles human-identical Bone Marrow Stem Cell Cytokines, carries them in Biosomes, and sells them as a two-step system: a water-based Serum it calls the software and a creamy Accelerator it calls the hardware, morning and night. Dose ladder versus system. That one difference decides most of this comparison.

This is the honest version. We will not crown a winner, because we sell both and because the right answer depends on your protocol: what your skin is dealing with, whether a procedure is booked, how many steps you will actually do. NeoGenesis facts come from the brand's product pages; AnteAGE facts from AnteAGE's product and collection pages on WeDoSkin. Prices are live CAD and the per-mL figures are our math. For the long form on either brand, read the NeoGenesis deep dive or the AnteAGE MD Intensify review.

The Quick Answer

Pick NeoGenesis Recovery (from $100 CAD for 5 mL) if you want to choose your own dose, apply it up to four times a day, keep the ingredient list to seven entries and build the rest of the routine from any brand. Pick the AnteAGE MD Biosome Serum ($299 for 30 mL) plus Accelerator ($208) if you want a decided two-step system with bakuchiol and vitamins C and E built into the second step, from a brand whose Canadian pages lead with microneedling and laser aftercare. Per mL, AnteAGE's 30 mL Serum is the lower number; on entry price, NeoGenesis is. Both say their products contain signalling molecules, not live cells. Mixing is allowed, and we show you how below.

Two Secretomes, Two Philosophies: Where the Growth Factors Come From

Both brands culture human stem cells in a lab, collect what the cells release and bottle it. They diverge on which cells, how much of the release, and how it gets into skin.

NeoGenesis: fibroblast and adipose stem cells, the whole secretome

NeoGenesis cultures human fibroblasts, the skin's collagen-making cells, and adipose mesenchymal stem cells, and collects the complete secretome: growth factors, peptides, cytokines, antioxidants and extracellular vesicles (the particles the market calls exosomes). The patented name is S2RM, stem cell released molecules, bottled as conditioned media with no live cells; the first two ingredients of Recovery are the two conditioned media, and the brand states they make up 70% of the formula. The philosophy is completeness over a single active. NeoGenesis names Dr. Raja Sivamani, a dermatologist, as Head of its Scientific Medical Advisory Board, calls its serums clinically tested and dermatologist recommended, and lists research titles on its pages. We quote no figures from them, because the brand publishes none.

AnteAGE: bone marrow stem cell cytokines, delivered in Biosomes

AnteAGE's source is human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. Its Canadian collection page calls the brand "the industry leader in growth factor technology, utilizing the power of Stem Cytokines derived from human bone marrow"; its product pages describe human-identical Bone Marrow Stem Cell Cytokines, "biologically identical to those naturally found in human skin", in deliberate contrast to plant-derived stem cells, and state that the finished products contain signalling molecules, not live cells. The other half of the story is delivery: the MD Biosome Serum carries its cytokines, peptides and antioxidants in Biosomes, delivery vesicles said to enhance penetration and stability, which Barrier Repair with Biosomes calls a biomimetic exosome technology. Cytokines as "command and control" messengers, the Biosome as the envelope.

What both have in common, and what neither is

Strip away the trademarks and the overlap is large: lab-cultured human stem cell secretions, not plant stem cells or synthetic single growth factors; water-based serums for clean skin before moisturizer; both positioned for the look of aging, visible redness and skin after in-clinic procedures. Neither is a retinoid, an acid or a vitamin C. AnteAGE folds bakuchiol and vitamins C and E into its Accelerator; NeoGenesis sells them as separate serums. Both appear in our growth factor and exosome serum rankings because each contains vesicles as well as soluble growth factors.

Video: Growth factors vs systems therapeutics: the NeoGenesis view. A NeoGenesis science presentation; it presents the brand's own position, not an independent comparison.

A framing note: that video is NeoGenesis arguing that a complete secretome (systems therapeutics, in its words) is a different proposition from a growth factor serum. It is the brand's perspective, not an independent finding, and AnteAGE would call its own approach equally systemic. We include it because it explains the NeoGenesis position clearly, not because it settles the debate.

Concentration Ladder vs System: How Each Brand Wants You to Use It

NeoGenesis: the 70/40/20/10 ladder, and your choice of dose

NeoGenesis publishes a stated S2RM percentage for every serum. Recovery is 70%, the correction serum. Booster is 40%. Skin Serum is 20%, the daily rung for younger, dry, sensitive or redness-prone skin and the only one sized at 120 mL for the body. Eye Serum is 10%. Even the moisturizers carry a number (Intensive Moisturizer 5%, Moisturizing Mist 1%). Match dose to need, test Recovery in four sizes, and build the rest of the routine from any brand: the directions say apply after cleansing, follow with any additional serums, then immediately apply moisturizer and/or sunscreen. Any moisturizer.

AnteAGE: the Serum is the software, the Accelerator is the hardware

AnteAGE publishes no cytokine percentage on its WeDoSkin pages and sells no ladder. It sells a system. The Biosome Serum "delivers the biological instructions your skin needs"; the Biosome Accelerator is "packed with potent actives like vitamins C and E, bakuchiol (a gentle retinol alternative) and growth factors" and is said to enhance penetration of the Serum's cytokines. They are sold together as the AnteAGE MD System ($449), and AnteAGE's FAQ answers "Do I need the Serum too?" with a yes. The dose decision is made for you and the antioxidant and retinol-alternative step is folded into the second bottle. For someone who wants a decided routine rather than a set of levers, that is a feature.

Frequency and texture: up to four times a day vs morning and night

Frequency is a real, stated difference: NeoGenesis says Recovery "can be applied up to 4 times daily", which no retinoid, acid or vitamin C would print; AnteAGE's directions are morning and night, Accelerator on top. Both go on first and both finish with SPF. Texture is where they feel most different. Recovery is seven ingredients with no humectants or emollients, so it feels like slightly thickened water, gives you nothing to feel on day one, and must be sealed immediately. AnteAGE describes its Serum as weightless, absorbing "instantly with no residue or tackiness", and the Accelerator as "a moisturizing, creamy treatment that leaves a breathable, protective veil". Want the regenerative step to feel like finished skincare? AnteAGE. Want it to feel like nothing and let your own moisturizer do the pleasure? NeoGenesis.

Post-Procedure, Eyes and Barrier: The Head-to-Head by Category

After microneedling and laser

This is where the two are strongest and most alike. AnteAGE's Canadian collection page says AnteAGE MD is "widely used to support recovery after microneedling and other procedures" and that the MD Biogel is often applied during treatments; its Serum FAQ says yes to use after microneedling or laser, with a reminder to follow your provider. NeoGenesis positions Recovery for skin stressed after professional treatments, allows it up to four times a day, and publishes cases with Recovery used alone after microneedling (one credited to Dr. Sivamani), peels and laser resurfacing. If your clinic uses one brand in the chair, continue it at home. Choosing cold, AnteAGE is the simpler two-step aftercare; NeoGenesis's four-a-day allowance and 30 mL spray (no touching fresh skin) is the more flexible. Either way, pair the serum with the same brand's barrier cream and hold actives until your provider clears them; our pre and post procedure collection has both.

Eye area: 10% S2RM and peptides vs growth factors and bakuchiol

NeoGenesis Eye Serum is the secretome at 10% plus hesperidin methyl chalcone and three peptides (palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, dipeptide-2) for the look of crow's feet, puffiness, dark circles and lip lines; from $55 for 5 mL, $145 for 15 mL. The AnteAGE MD Eye Reset System ($150 for 15 mL) is "high concentrations of growth factors and bakuchiol specifically calibrated for the thin skin around the eyes", a silky fluid for the look of crepey skin, puffiness and dark circles that AnteAGE says avoids the irritation of eye retinols and sits under concealer. At 15 mL they are within $5 of each other, so this is about actives: a retinol alternative built in (AnteAGE) or peptides plus the secretome with lip lines covered (NeoGenesis). Both are morning and night.

Barrier creams: Triple Lipid Technology vs Biosomes with ceramides and ectoin

NeoGenesis Barrier Renewal Cream is built on Triple Lipid Technology: three skin-identical ceramides, cholesterol and free fatty acids, with safflower oleosomes, urea, sodium PCA, hyaluronic acid and panthenol. Non-comedogenic per the brand, and it contains no S2RM; the secretome comes from the serum underneath. From $35 for 5 mL. AnteAGE Barrier Repair with Biosomes ($180 for 50 mL) carries the technology in the cream itself: Biosomes, said to deliver growth factors and peptides, with barrier lipids and ceramides, ectoin and antioxidants for environmental and blue light stress, and safflower and kiwi seed oils. That is the real difference. NeoGenesis keeps the secretome in the serum and makes the cream a pure lipid-and-NMF seal; AnteAGE puts Biosomes in the cream too. Buying one AnteAGE product? Barrier Repair carries the technology alone. On Recovery? Barrier Renewal Cream is simply the right lid.

Our Pick by Protocol: Recovery Leads, Biosome Serum Is the Equal Alternative

Our #1 Pick · $100.00 CAD

NeoGenesis Recovery, for the Person Who Wants to Choose the Dose

Why it takes the box: Recovery is the only product here that lets you decide how much secretome you get and how often: a stated 70% S2RM, seven ingredients, up to four times a day, four sizes from a $100 CAD trial to a 30 mL spray, and a brand that publishes dozens of before and after cases with it. It works under any moisturizer you already own. Clinically tested and dermatologist recommended per NeoGenesis.

Choose AnteAGE instead if: you want a finished two-step system with bakuchiol and vitamins C and E in the second step, a serum that feels like a serum, or your clinic uses AnteAGE MD in the chair. The MD Biosome Serum ($299 for 30 mL, under $10 per mL by our math) plus Accelerator is not the runner-up; it is the other right answer, for a different protocol.

The verdict: Read the table by protocol. If the row that matters to you is frequency, a concentration you can see, or entry price, NeoGenesis wins it. If it is per-mL cost on a full-size bottle, a built-in retinol alternative, or a system that needs no decisions, AnteAGE wins it. Neither loses a row it was designed to win, which is why both are on our shelf.

Three Routines: All NeoGenesis, All AnteAGE, or Pick by Concern

Each routine follows the brand's own directions: cleanse, growth factor serum first, then the rest, then moisturizer, SPF in the morning. The mixed routine is ours, built from what each brand states its products do.

All NeoGenesis: the dose-ladder routine

  • ☀️ AM: cleanse, skin left damp, Recovery (or Skin Serum to start at 20%), Eye Serum, then Barrier Renewal Cream and mineral SPF
  • 🌙 PM: cleanse, Recovery on damp skin, any vitamin A or other serum over it, Eye Serum, Barrier Renewal Cream
  • ⏰ Intensive weeks: add a midday and late-afternoon Recovery under a thin layer of cream, as the brand allows up to four a day. Skin Serum on chest and hands.

All AnteAGE: the two-step system routine

Mixed: which to pick by concern

Five Mistakes People Make Choosing Between Them

1. Comparing the $100 bottle to the $299 bottle

Recovery's $100 is 5 mL; the Biosome Serum's $299 is 30 mL. At 30 mL Recovery is $485, or $16.17 per mL to AnteAGE's $9.97 by our math. Compare per mL, then remember NeoGenesis is a stated 70% secretome and AnteAGE publishes no percentage: the numbers compare price, not potency.

2. Buying the AnteAGE Serum without the Accelerator, then judging the system

AnteAGE designed the two to be used together and says so in its own FAQ. The Serum alone is a water-based cytokine serum; the bakuchiol, vitamins C and E and the barrier veil all live in the Accelerator. If you only want one AnteAGE product, Barrier Repair with Biosomes carries the Biosome technology on its own.

3. Using the 70% NeoGenesis serum twice a day and wondering where the results are

The NeoGenesis allowance is up to four applications daily, and the brand's post-procedure cases are built on that schedule. If you bought the 70% and apply it like any other serum, you are using the top rung at the bottom rung's frequency. Climb the frequency or save money with Skin Serum.

4. Putting either serum on after your other actives

Both brands say it in different words: growth factor serum first, on clean skin. A vitamin C, a hyaluronic serum or an oil underneath puts a layer between the signalling molecules and your skin. NeoGenesis adds "damp skin" and "immediately seal"; AnteAGE adds "then the Accelerator".

5. Starting a new system the same week as a procedure

Both brands position their serums for skin after microneedling and laser, and both say follow your provider. Neither recommends a brand new routine on freshly treated skin. If your clinic used AnteAGE MD in the chair, continue it; if NeoGenesis, continue that. Switch systems between treatments, not the day after one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main difference between NeoGenesis and AnteAGE?

The source cells and the usage model. NeoGenesis bottles the complete secretome of fibroblast and adipose mesenchymal stem cells (S2RM) on a stated 70/40/20/10 ladder and allows Recovery up to four times a day. AnteAGE bottles human-identical bone marrow stem cell cytokines in Biosomes as a two-step Serum and Accelerator system, morning and night.

Is NeoGenesis or AnteAGE better after microneedling?

Both position their serums for skin after microneedling and laser and both tell you to follow your provider. AnteAGE's Canadian pages say AnteAGE MD is widely used after microneedling; NeoGenesis allows Recovery up to four times daily and publishes cases with Recovery used alone after microneedling. Continue whichever brand your clinic used in the chair.

Do NeoGenesis or AnteAGE products contain live stem cells?

No. Both brands state their finished products contain the molecules the cultured cells released, not live cells: conditioned media for NeoGenesis, cytokines and growth factors in Biosomes for AnteAGE.

Which is cheaper, NeoGenesis or AnteAGE?

It depends how you count. NeoGenesis has the lower entry price (Recovery from $100 CAD for 5 mL, Skin Serum from $55). AnteAGE's MD Biosome Serum is $299 for 30 mL, about $9.97 per mL by our math, against $16.17 per mL for the 30 mL Recovery. NeoGenesis is a stated 70% secretome and AnteAGE publishes no percentage, so per-mL figures compare price, not potency.

Can I use NeoGenesis and AnteAGE together?

Yes, with one rule: one growth factor serum per area, applied first. For example NeoGenesis Recovery on the face with the AnteAGE Eye Reset System around the eyes, or AnteAGE's Serum and Accelerator on the face with NeoGenesis Skin Serum on chest and hands. Do not layer both face serums at once.

Does NeoGenesis have an equivalent to the AnteAGE Accelerator?

Not in one product. The Accelerator combines growth factors, bakuchiol and vitamins C and E in a cream. NeoGenesis splits those jobs across Skin Restore Serum (a vitamin A retinoate), Vibrant C Serum and its moisturizers, layered over Recovery as you choose.

Which brand is better for sensitive or redness-prone skin?

Both are positioned for it. NeoGenesis Recovery has seven ingredients and no fragrance; Skin Serum adds gluconolactone and glycerin for comfort. AnteAGE says its Biosome Serum suits sensitive and redness-prone skin and uses bakuchiol instead of retinol. Patch test either if you are highly reactive.

Where can I buy NeoGenesis and AnteAGE in Canada?
