afa® Renewal Masque

afa Renewal Masque is a creamy bentonite clay mask with afaLUXE that clears pores of dead skin cells, excess oil and other impurities without stripping natural moisture. By removing those unwanted elements it allows the exfoliant to penetrate more deeply. With regular use it helps reduce breakouts and imperfections, addresses sun damage and redness, and improves the look of pores, tone and texture. The tube holds 1 oz / 30 ml.

afa lists it for combination, normal and dry skin, and it is tagged for blemish-prone skin, blackheads, clogged pores, large pores, redness and uneven tone. Because it purifies without stripping, dry skin can use it too. If your skin is broken, sunburned or currently irritated, skip the mask until it settles, and stop using it if you feel stinging that does not ease after rinsing.

Use it once or twice a week as a deep facial. Wash your face with your favourite afa cleanser, then apply the masque evenly over your face, neck and décolletage as needed. Leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse with a generous amount of cool water. Do not rub while rinsing. Follow with your moisturizer, and keep the rest of that evening's routine simple.

At one or two applications a week, the 1 oz / 30 ml tube typically lasts a season, though afa does not state an exact number of uses. Skin usually feels cleaner and smoother right after the first mask. afa notes that improvements in imperfections, sun damage, redness and pore appearance come with weekly application, so give it a few weeks of regular use.

Cleanse first with an afa cleanser such as the Clarifying Gel Cleanser for oily skin or the Gentle Cream Cleanser for dry or sensitive skin. On mask nights, consider skipping your Restorative Gel so your skin is not over exfoliated.

It is better to separate them. The masque contains glycolic acid and afaLUXE and already encourages exfoliation, so layering a Restorative Gel, retinol or another acid on the same evening increases the chance of irritation. Use the mask once or twice a week on its own, patch test before your first full application, rinse thoroughly without rubbing, and wear sunscreen the next morning.
