afa® Restorative Gel Max

afa Restorative Gel Max is the most advanced formula in the afa Restorative Gel range, with 19% afaLUXE, L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and sea salt. It is a leave-on exfoliating gel that helps reduce the look of breakouts, large pores, dull skin, fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and redness-prone skin, while supporting collagen and the moisture barrier. Its low pH is balanced to maximize results while guarding against irritation.

afa lists Gel Max for combination, dry, mature, normal, oily and redness-prone skin. It is designed for people who have already acclimated to Gel Mild or Gel Plus and want the strongest results on texture, tone, pores and fine lines. After cleansing in the evening, dispense no more than a dime-sized amount onto your hands, rub them together to distribute evenly and apply to your entire face. Do not spot apply, as that may cause irritation. The first time, leave it on for two hours and rinse. If no irritation occurs within 24 hours, you can leave later applications on overnight. Discontinue if irritation occurs.

It is best not to use them on the same night. Gel Max is already a potent exfoliant, so adding retinol, glycolic, salicylic or other strong actives increases the chance of stinging, peeling and redness. Alternate nights if you want to keep another active, patch test before full face use, never spot apply and always wear sunscreen by day. Stop if irritation persists.
