What is Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Body Shield Classic SPF 50?
Body Shield Classic SPF 50 is a lightweight, silky, 100% mineral body sunscreen in a neutral universal shade that blends into all skin tones with no white traces. EnviroScreen Technology protects against UVA/UVB, pollution, blue light and infrared radiation, and the hydrating, antioxidant-rich formula helps defend against free radicals. It is Broad Spectrum SPF 50, water and sweat resistant for 80 minutes, and comes in a 120 mL bottle.
Who is Body Shield Classic suitable for?
It suits all skin types and tones and is tagged for normal, combination and oily skin. The formula is oil-free, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and dermatologist recommended. Ask a doctor before using it on a child under 6 months of age, and do not apply it to broken skin. If you want a stick format for small areas, see the Sport Stick SPF50 instead.
How much Body Shield Classic should I apply and how often?
Shake well before each use. Apply about 1 ounce, enough to fill a shot glass, to cover the body evenly, 15 minutes before heading outside. Reapply at least every two hours, and after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating. For the face, Colorescience makes dedicated Face Shields, though Body Shield can be used anywhere you need coverage.
How long does a bottle of Body Shield Classic last?
At the recommended 1 ounce per full-body application, a 120 mL bottle covers roughly four full-body applications, so it is best thought of as beach-day or holiday sunscreen rather than a month of daily use. For arms and face only it stretches much further. Protection starts immediately, so there is no waiting period to judge it.
What pairs well with Body Shield Classic?
Keep the Sport Stick SPF50 with it for quick top-ups on the face, ears and hands, and use a Face Shield on the face if you prefer a tinted finish. After a day outside, the Barrier Pro 1-Step Cleanser is designed to remove water-resistant mineral sunscreen from face and body in one wash. The Barrier Pro Serum Spray can be used on body skin to add hydration.
What precautions come with Body Shield Classic?
It is for external use only. Keep it out of your eyes and rinse with water if needed; stop and ask a doctor if a rash appears. Sunscreen alone is not full protection: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and wear long sleeves, a hat and sunglasses. Reapply after towel drying.
Is Body Shield Classic tinted, and does it leave a white cast?
Body Shield Classic has a neutral, universal shade designed to blend seamlessly into all skin tones and leave no traces of white, unlike many pure mineral sunscreens. The iron oxide pigments also help protect skin from blue (HEV) light. It dries to a weightless, invisible finish rather than adding colour, so it will not look like a bronzer on the body.
