NeoGenesis Recovery Serum Review (2026): Is 70% S2RM Worth It? Results, How to Use, Canada Pricing
Seven ingredients, 70% secretome, up to four applications a day. The question is not whether Recovery works, it is whether your skin needs this much of it.

Let us start with the number everyone trips over. NeoGenesis Recovery costs $100 CAD for 5 mL, and the ingredient list has seven entries, none of which is vitamin C, a retinoid or a peptide complex. The first two are conditioned media: the liquid that human fibroblast and adipose mesenchymal stem cells were cultured in, carrying everything those cells released. That is 70% of the bottle. The other five are water, a thickener, two preservatives and a touch of lactic acid to hold the pH.
So the question in this review is not "does Recovery have good ingredients", because there is only one ingredient that matters and you cannot buy it anywhere else. The question is whether 70% of it is worth paying for, when the same brand sells the same secretome at 40% for $80 and at 20% for $55. That depends on your skin, and we will be blunt about who should climb to 70 and who should not.
WeDoSkin is an Authorized NeoGenesis Retailer in Canada, and this is the honest version: S2RM in one paragraph (the full brand deep dive is here), what the brand's before and after cases show, how to use Recovery including the four-times-a-day schedule, the four sizes with Canadian pricing, and the routine around it. Facts come from the ingredient list, the brand's directions and its published research titles. Nothing is invented.
NeoGenesis Recovery (from $100 CAD for 5 mL) is worth it if your skin needs correction rather than maintenance: visible signs of aging, dark spots, visible redness, blemish-prone congestion, or skin stressed after a professional treatment. It is the highest S2RM concentration NeoGenesis makes, goes on first on damp skin, and can be applied up to four times a day. Under thirty-five with early lines, or shopping for your chest and hands? The 20% Skin Serum (from $55) is the smarter buy. Seal Recovery with Intensive Moisturizer if dry or Barrier Renewal Cream if sensitized.
What Is Actually in a Bottle of Recovery
The ingredient list, all seven of them
Here is the full INCI for the 5 mL, 15 mL and 30 mL pump: Human Adipose Mesenchymal Stem Cell Conditioned Media, Human Fibroblast Conditioned Media, Water, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Benzyl Alcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Lactic Acid. The 30 mL spray is the same list minus the hydroxyethylcellulose, because a spray does not want a thickener. No fragrance, no silicones, no colour, no botanicals padding the label.
Read it like a formulator. The two conditioned media are the active, and NeoGenesis states they make up 70% of the product. Hydroxyethylcellulose turns water into a serum you can press in. Benzyl alcohol and dehydroacetic acid are the preservative pair a water-based product carrying biological molecules needs. Lactic acid, in a small amount, adjusts the pH to match the skin's own acidity; a pH adjuster here, not an exfoliant. The short list is the point: the secretome does the work and everything else keeps it stable.
S2RM in one paragraph
S2RM stands for stem cell released molecules. NeoGenesis cultures human fibroblasts (the skin's own collagen-making cells) and adipose mesenchymal stem cells (the body's general support crew), then collects what they secrete: growth factors, peptides, cytokines, antioxidants and extracellular vesicles, the particles we now call exosomes. That complete secretome, the brand's patented S2RM, goes in the bottle as conditioned media. There are no live cells in the product. If you have read our growth factor serum or exosome serum rankings, Recovery is the category those two are slices of: it contains both.
Why 70% and not 100%
A fair question, answered by the formula itself: conditioned media is water-based, so a usable serum needs a thickener, a preservative system and a pH adjuster. Seventy percent is what is left once a stable, shelf-safe product has been built around the secretome. Booster (40%) and Skin Serum (20%) trade some of that 70 for hydrators and humectants. Recovery trades nothing, which is why it is the correction serum and the others are maintenance.
What NeoGenesis Says Recovery Does (and the Molecules It Credits)
NeoGenesis is unusually specific about which parts of the secretome it credits for which visible result. These are the brand's own statements, written in the language of appearance, and they map onto the before and after cases further down.
Tone and dark spots
Tyrosinase-modulating proteins and antioxidants, the brand says, help support a more even-toned complexion while helping defend skin from oxidative stress. The look of dark spots and uneven tone is the first thing most of the Recovery-only cases show changing, which is why Recovery sits in our discolouration collection as well as the anti-aging one.
Visible redness and stressed skin
Heat shock proteins and immune-supporting signalling molecules help skin appear calmer and more balanced. This is the claim behind the professional habit of using Recovery right after microneedling, microcurrent, peels and laser resurfacing: skin fresh from a procedure looks stressed, and the brand positions Recovery as the serum for that moment. It is also why the redness-prone cases exist.
Lines, firmness and resilience
Growth factors and structural proteins support the skin's natural collagen production and the appearance of firmer-looking skin; matrix proteins, peptides and what NeoGenesis calls regenerative communication molecules support the appearance of stronger, more resilient skin. This is the slow part. The brand's aging cases are months apart, not weeks, and we would set your expectations the same way.

Two more brand facts. NeoGenesis describes Recovery as clinically tested and dermatologist recommended, and names Dr. Raja Sivamani, a dermatologist, as Head of its Scientific Medical Advisory Board; one microneedling case below is credited to him. The brand also publishes research titles on the product page (Systems Therapeutics Approach, Rescue of Degenerating Cells Using S2RM, Safety Profile of S2RM Technology, Physiological Renormalization of Skin). We quote no numbers from them, because the brand publishes none for Recovery.
How to Use Recovery: The Directions, and What Professionals Add
The official directions
NeoGenesis keeps it simple: after cleansing, apply Recovery to the area you want to support. Follow with any additional serums, then immediately apply moisturizer and/or sunscreen. Recovery can be applied up to four times daily. Three things in that sentence matter. Recovery goes on first. It is sealed in straight away, because a water-based serum left on bare skin evaporates. And four times a day is permitted, which no retinoid, acid or vitamin C would ever say. Other actives, including the brand's own Skin Restore Serum and any vitamin C or acid you already use, layer over Recovery, never under it.
Damp skin, and why the Mist shows up in the cases
Professionals apply Recovery to skin still damp from cleansing, and re-wet it if it has dried. Look at the product lists in the brand's post-procedure cases and you will see Moisturizing Mist over and over, because a mist gets skin damp without rubbing it. Cleanse, mist, Recovery, seal. At $30 for 30 mL it is the cheapest way to make a $100 serum work harder.
How much, and how long a bottle lasts
A pea-sized amount covers the face. The 5 mL is a genuine trial size; the 15 mL ($280) is the real starting point; the 30 mL pump ($485) is for people who know they are staying. The 30 mL spray, also $485, is for the neck, chest, hands or any larger area, and for applying Recovery to delicate or freshly treated skin without touching it. The table below compares all four.
Is 70% Worth It? The Honest Math
Who should climb to Recovery
Three groups. Skin with visible signs of aging that has done the retinoid-and-vitamin-C routine and wants a regenerative layer underneath it. Skin that is reactive, redness-prone or blemish-prone and cannot tolerate the usual actives, because Recovery is the rare correction serum with nothing in it to sting. And anyone with a professional treatment booked, because Recovery is what the aftercare cases are built on. In one of those groups, the $100 entry is a fair test and the 15 mL is the honest commitment.
Who should not, yet
Under thirty-five with early lines and otherwise happy skin? Seventy percent is more than you need; spend the money on the 20% Skin Serum (from $55) and a good sunscreen. Dryness and tightness the whole story? Booster at 40% (from $80) hydrates on contact in a way Recovery does not. Want S2RM on your chest, hands and arms? Skin Serum comes in 120 mL for exactly that. The ladder exists so you can match the dose to the need, and buying the top rung by default is the most common mistake we see.
One more honest note. Recovery feels like water: no glide, no plump, no tingle to tell you it is working, and people used to cosmetic elegance find the first week underwhelming. Results in the brand's cases are measured in weeks and months, and the sensory pleasure comes from the moisturizer on top.
Our Verdict: NeoGenesis Recovery
The Correction Serum That Earns Its Price When Skin Needs It
Why it earns the verdict: Recovery is the purest version of the one thing NeoGenesis does that nobody else on our shelf does: a complete stem cell secretome at a stated 70%, in a seven-ingredient fragrance-free formula gentle enough to apply four times a day to skin fresh from a procedure. Clinically tested and dermatologist recommended per the brand, it is the serum in nearly every before and after NeoGenesis publishes, and four sizes mean you can test it for $100 before committing.
Buy it if: your skin needs correction, is reactive, or has a treatment coming up. Skip it for now if: you are young with early lines (Skin Serum, from $55) or simply dry (Booster, from $80). Seal with Intensive Moisturizer or Barrier Renewal Cream, immediately, every time.

Four formats of the same serum, plus the two lower rungs of the S2RM ladder for anyone deciding whether 70% is the right buy. Live WeDoSkin CAD prices; the per-mL figures are our own arithmetic.

| Best for | Most people: face, twice daily | Trial size, a few weeks | Committed users, face and neck | Neck, chest, hands, delicate or treated skin | Dryness, tightness, early lines | Younger or redness-prone skin, body |
| How often | Up to 4x daily | Up to 4x daily | Up to 4x daily | Up to 4x daily | AM and/or PM | AM and PM |
The verdict: The 15 mL is the honest buy for most people: it covers a real trial of twice-daily use and improves the per-mL price without the $485 commitment. Start with the 5 mL only if you are unsure of your skin's reaction. Go to the 30 mL spray if you are covering more than a face or want to apply without touching freshly treated skin. And if the per-mL price of 70% makes you flinch, that flinch is the signal to look at Booster or Skin Serum.
Four Ways to Run Recovery, Depending on Your Skin
The order never changes: cleanse, Recovery on damp skin, any other serum, then moisturizer and sunscreen immediately. What changes is how often and what goes on top.
AM: the everyday morning
- 🧼 Cleanser, then leave skin damp or mist with Moisturizing Mist
- 💧 Recovery, a pea-sized amount pressed in, then Eye Serum around the eyes and lips
- ☀️ Intensive Moisturizer straight away, then a mineral SPF.
PM: Recovery plus the vitamin A partner
- 🧼 Cleanser (twice if you wore sunscreen or makeup), skin left damp
- 💧 Recovery first, then Skin Restore Serum, the vitamin A retinoate NeoGenesis itself pairs with it, then Eye Serum
- 🌙 Intensive Moisturizer to seal; swap in Barrier Renewal Cream if your skin runs sensitized rather than dry.
Post-procedure: the first two weeks
- 🩹 Days 1 to 7: mist with Moisturizing Mist, then Recovery (the spray is ideal here, no touching), then Barrier Renewal Cream. Nothing else, up to four times a day as your provider allows.
- 🌙 Week 2: add Cleanser back, keep Recovery and Barrier Renewal Cream, hold all actives until your provider clears them
- ☀️ Mineral SPF from the day your provider says so. Your provider's aftercare instructions always come first; this fits around them. See the pre and post procedure collection.
Intensive: four times a day, as the brand allows
- ⏰ Morning and night as above, plus midday and late afternoon: mist, Recovery, a thin layer of moisturizer. No cleansing needed for the extra applications.
- 💧 Best for skin that feels stressed, reactive or compromised, and for the first weeks on the serum when you want to see what it can do
- 📅 Run it for two to four weeks, then drop back to AM and PM. The 15 mL or 30 mL is the size for this.
Five Mistakes That Waste a $100 Serum
1. Applying it after your other serums
Every NeoGenesis instruction starts the same way: after cleansing, apply Recovery first. Put a vitamin C, a hyaluronic serum or an oil underneath it and you have placed a barrier between the secretome and your skin. First means first, on damp skin.
2. Letting it dry with nothing on top
The directions say immediately apply moisturizer and/or sunscreen, and immediately is not a figure of speech. Recovery is water-based with almost nothing in it to hold moisture; left bare, it evaporates and skin feels tighter than before. Seal it every time.
3. Buying 70% when 20% was the right rung
Recovery is the flagship, not the default. Under thirty-five with early lines, or covering your chest and hands? Skin Serum does the job at $11 per mL instead of $20. The ladder exists so you can match the dose to the need; climb to Recovery when your skin asks for it.
4. Judging it at week two
Recovery gives you nothing to feel on day one: no tingle, no glow, no plumping. The look of tone, firmness and calm follows the skin's renewal timeline, measured in weeks, and the brand's cases are not day-two photos. Give it twelve weeks, twice daily, before you decide.
5. Starting Skin Restore Serum the same week as a procedure
The vitamin A step is gentle, and NeoGenesis pairs it with Recovery for good reason, but freshly treated skin wants the secretome and barrier support, not a retinoid. Run Recovery and Barrier Renewal Cream alone for the first week or two, follow your provider, then bring Skin Restore back.
Real Results with Recovery: Before and After Photos
NeoGenesis publishes before and after cases from its clinic partners and shared them with us as an Authorized Canadian Retailer. These six all list Recovery as the first product used; two use Recovery alone, which is as close as a case photo gets to isolating the serum. Captions are the brand's, concern labels name no condition, and individual results vary. Each person was also following a skincare professional's guidance.
Photos courtesy of NeoGenesis and its clinic partners as credited. Unretouched case photos shared by the brand; individual results vary.
What we take from the set: the Recovery-only cases are the tone and blemish-prone ones, the post-procedure cases pair it with Moisturizing Mist and a moisturizer, and the aging cases are long timelines with a cream on top. That is the routine this article describes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is NeoGenesis Recovery serum?
Recovery is the NeoGenesis hero serum, built on patented S2RM technology at a 70% concentration. S2RM means stem cell released molecules: the complete secretome from human fibroblast and adipose mesenchymal stem cells, including growth factors, peptides, cytokines, antioxidants and extracellular vesicles, delivered as conditioned media. Seven ingredients, no fragrance, made for all skin types.
Is NeoGenesis Recovery worth the price?
Yes, if your skin needs correction (visible signs of aging, dark spots and uneven tone, visible redness, blemish-prone congestion, or skin stressed after a professional treatment), and especially if it cannot tolerate the usual actives. If you are younger with early lines or simply dry, the 20% Skin Serum (from $55 CAD) or 40% Booster (from $80) is the better value.
How do I use NeoGenesis Recovery?
After cleansing, apply a pea-sized amount to damp skin before any other serum. Follow with any additional serums, then immediately apply moisturizer and/or sunscreen. NeoGenesis says Recovery can be applied up to four times daily.
How many times a day can I use Recovery?
Up to four times daily, per NeoGenesis. Most people use it morning and evening; the four-times schedule is for skin that feels stressed or compromised, the weeks after a professional treatment, or the first weeks on the serum. Seal every application with moisturizer.
What is the difference between the Recovery serum and the Recovery spray?
Same S2RM concentration, same price for 30 mL ($485 CAD). The serum (5 mL, 15 mL, 30 mL pump) contains hydroxyethylcellulose as a thickener; the 30 mL spray drops it so it mists finely. The spray is for larger areas such as the neck, chest and hands, and for applying to delicate or freshly treated skin without touching it.
How long until I see results from Recovery?
NeoGenesis does not publish a fixed timeline and we will not invent one. Nothing feels different on day one; the look of tone, firmness and calm follows the skin's own renewal timeline, measured in weeks. Give it twelve weeks of twice-daily use before judging. The brand's cases are months apart.
Can I use Recovery with retinol, vitamin C or acids?
Yes. Recovery goes on first, after cleansing, and other serums layer over it. NeoGenesis pairs Recovery with its own Skin Restore Serum, a vitamin A retinoate, and with Intensive Moisturizer. Pause actives for the first week or two after a procedure and follow your provider.
Where can I buy NeoGenesis Recovery in Canada and what does it cost?
WeDoSkin is an Authorized NeoGenesis Retailer in Canada. Recovery is $100 CAD for 5 mL, $280 for 15 mL, and $485 for the 30 mL pump or the 30 mL spray, with free shipping on Canadian orders over $65.
